In UNEARTHED, teams explored archaeology and the tools, stories and knowledge hidden beneath the surface. The Innovation Project challenged teams to identify a problem faced by archaeologists and develop a creative solution.

Our Innovation Project
MiniTechs developed an AI-based Pottery Sherd Matching and Dating application to help archaeologists determine the age and origin of pottery fragments. The concept analyzed images or 3D scans, compared shapes and metadata with known pottery databases, and aimed to identify similar artifacts and estimate their historical period—saving research time and reducing human bias.
